Since its formation, the Haufe Group has developed from its core business as a successful publishing company into a specialist in the provision of digital and web-based services. Several processes had to be modernized over the course of this development, particularly those involving contact with suppliers. For this reason, the Haufe Group has recently started enlisting the expertise of the Stuttgart-based IT solution provider, Onventis.
By implementing the cloud-based TradeCore solution, the Haufe Group is realizing its goal of introducing an integrated system for orders and supplier relationship management (SRM). This optimizes interaction processes with suppliers and reduces cost structures. The criteria that attracted the Haufe Group to TradeCore from Onventis were the solution’s continuous development, consistency, transparency and ease of use. New Integrated Solution Ensures Quality When Contacting Suppliers
The Onventis solution guides suppliers through their registration process with ease. They pass through Haufe Group’s individually customized, automated workflow. Functions such as allocating product groups and assessing suppliers help to provide an up-to-date picture of key suppliers. This assessment is used to inform all decisions regarding procurement. It also serves as a basis for quality improvement measures in supplier relationships, allowing new suppliers and service providers to grow, develop and become better qualified.
The e-procurement solution also makes it possible to search for and request quotations for products and services alongside general catalog procurement across multiple suppliers. Flexible, dynamic approval workflows show complex organizational hierarchies and ensure compliance in the procurement process. The Haufe Group chose to implement all of the modules of the SRM system, featuring complete reporting and analytics alongside supplier management, sourcing and order management. During each work process, TradeCore independently communicates with the existing SAP system, checks user entries, creates supporting documents and exchanges data. This means that the buyer does not require any knowledge of SAP.
